Eligibility
Project must be located within the Lyons Main Street District or on corridor GA Hwy 292, US 280, US 1, or South Victory Drive inside the city limits.
Reimbursement is only for expenses incurred during renovations performed on the exterior façade.
The project must comply with the Design Guidelines set forth by Lyons Main Street.
Property must not be in violation of zoning or other ordinances and not have past-due City of Lyons taxes.
If a building permit is required, it must be submitted with the application. Only one grant per storefront mailing address, unless the availability of funds allow more per grant period (January-December)
Reimbursement is for one-third (up to $1000) of the total project cost.
The grant request is subject to denial if the procedure is not followed. Incomplete applications and missing information will delay the process.
Applicants must be the building owner or tenant with a signature from the building owner.
The Process
Applicant must discuss their project with Lyons Main Street staff and then complete the application. Work may NOT begin prior to the approval of the application.
Submit before picture, application, paint chips, estimates, building permit, and renderings of the proposed project. Contractors must supply a detailed written estimate. Self-contracted projects require an itemized list of materials.
The Design Committee will decide if approved.
You will be notified, work must begin within 45 days of approval and be completed within 180 days.
The project must be completed according to the design submitted, including materials, colors, awnings, etc.
All expenditures must be documented. Upon project completion, submit invoices and canceled checks along with the final expense total, a CO (certificate of occupancy) if applicable, and digital after photo. All work must be inspected and comply with the code.
Once the approved project has been completed in compliance with the requirements, reimbursement will be made for the approved amount.
