Champion Miss Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby

The Champion Miss Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby is a special title open to contestants from all age divisions. Any contestant who collects and turns in at least $100 in People's Choice votes will automatically qualify asa candidatefor the Champion Miss title. One Champion Miss will be crowned for the entire pageant. At the conclusion of the evening pageant, the conestantwho collected the most People's Choice votes overall will be crowned: CHAMPION MISS SOUTHEAST GEORGIA SOAP BOX DERBY. The champion Miss will have the opportunity to reign throughout the year and participate in the queens events, appearances, and activitites representing the Miss Southeast Seorgia Soap Box Derby. 

 Tie-Breaker: In the event that two or more eligible conestants have the same highest total of People's Choice votes, the beauty score from the conestant's pageant competition will be used as the tie breaker. Only one champion Miss will be crownd for the entire pageant.

Junior Miss & Teen Miss Divisions:

Optional Interview:

An optional interview segmet will be held with judges before beauty competition. Interview questions will be based on the contestant's bio sheet as well as general questions revlevant to contestant's age. contestants will wear their oening number attire for interview.

Junior & Teen Miss: 2-minute interview 

Opitional On-Stage Question:

Junior Miss and Teen Miss contestants will have the option to participate in an On-Stage Question. Questions will come directly from the contestant's bio or be simple, age-appropriate general questions. This is fun opportunity for our Junior and Teen Miss contestants to experience an On-Stage Question without the pressure of its affecting their pageant scores or title placement.

Miss Division:

Interview:

All Miss contestants are required to participate in the interview portion of competition. The interview will be 4 mintues in length. Questions may pertain to information included in the contestant's bio, general knowledge, society and life, as well as Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby history and information. Contestants will wear their opening number attire for interviews.

On-Stage Question:

Miss contestants will participate in an on-stage question. The number of contestants advancing to the on-stage question will be determined by the number of contestants in the division. 

Beauty Competition:

Contestants ages 0-10 will competein Sunday Best attire that is age-appropate, polished, and comfortable. We recommend dresses with classic, timesless look, such as Easter-style dresses, church dresses, or interview-style dresses. Soft, elegant details are encouraged, while the overall look should remain youthfuk and natural. 

Please avoid dresses that are heavily embellished with sequins, rhinestones, excessive glitter, or heavy bling. The focus should be on the contestant-not an elaborate dress. Our goal is to create a natural, polished, age-appropriate appearance that allows each young contestant's personality and natural beauty to shine. 

Hair & Makeup Guidelines:

Natural appearance is encouraged. Make up should be light, soft, and age-appropriate. Foundation, powder, and light blush are permitted. Hair should soft and age-appropriate. Hair extensions are permitted at all agesbut MUST LOOK NATURAL. Tanning is permitted but should remain NATURAL-LOOKING. Every element of the contestant's apperance should enhance, rather than overpower, her natural-beauty. 

Competition

Conestants will model a traddional T-pattern. ( Please do not stay on stage for an excessive amount of time.) Judgingwill be based on: Beauty, Poise & Personality, and Overall Appearance.

Interview Schedule 

Interviews for Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss will begin at 1:00 p.m. Individual interview times will be emailed to contestants on: Wednesday, February 17, 2027.

Opening Number & Mandatory Rehearsal

Friday, February 19,2027 ~6:00p.m.

Toombs County Hogh School Auditorium

All Junior Miss, Teen Miss, Miss Contestants are REQUIRED to attend rehearsal.

The Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss contestantts will participate in a simple opening number at 2027 Miss Southeast Gegorgia Soap Box Derby Pageant and introduce themselves stating their Name and Contestant Number. 

OPENING NUMBER ATTIRE:Black Shirt (provided by SEGSBD), Black Plants, Shoes & accessories of Choice.

SEGSBD will provide each contestant with a black shirt featuring the offical pageant logo. Contestants will provide their own soild black pants; jeans slacks, or dress pants are permitted. Leggings are NOT permitted. Shoes and accessories are the contestant;s choice and should be appropriate for the pageant and comfortable for movement. The opening number will be taught and pacticed during the mandatory rehearsal on Friday night. Rehearsal will also include a meeting with the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Director annd an opportunity for contestants to become familiar with the stage and pageant progam. We want every contestant to feel comfortable, confident, and prepared on pageant night. Please plan according;y and allow the time neeed to properly prepare. Attendance at rehearsal is MANDATORY for all Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Contestants. 

Miss Divison Meeting

Following rehearsal, Miss contestants will have a brief meeting with the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Director. During this meeting, Miss conestants will receive important information about the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby, including Derby facts and information that may be used during the Miss Division interview and on-stage question.This information will be provided at rehearsal and will not be distibuted to Miss contestants at another time. Attendance at rehearsal is therefore MANDATORY dor all Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss contestants. 

Divisions Winners will Receive a crown, trophy and sash. Runners-up will receive an award. The number of runners- up awarded for each division will be determined based upon participation within eac division

Miss Divisions Scholarship & Appearances

Winning a title Means becoming a representative of the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby. All queens are expected to conduct themselves with the highest standards of character, sportsmanship, professionalism, and the respect throughout their reign. The Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Division winners must attend All mandatory appearances and at least 50% of all other requested appearances throughout their reign in order to receive their full scholarship award, unless prior approval by the Derby Director and/or Pageant Director. Scholarship for the Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Divisions will be presented as cash scholarships at the conclusion of each queen's reign. Scholarship awards are subject to each queen fulfilling her required duties, responsibilities, and appearance obligations throughout her reign, as well as final approval by the Derby Director and Pageant Director. 

Interview Scholarship Awards

Interview winners will receive a cash scholarship at the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Legacy Gala. On the night of the Pageant, each Interview Winner will be presented with a special VIP invitation to attend the Legacy Gala, where she will be recognized and honored.

The winner of the Miss Division additionaly agrees to serve as a spokesperson for the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Queens may be asked to appear in radio, television, print, internet advertising, community appearances, and derby events as determined by the director

Chridtmas Parades

 All Queens are required to participate in the Lyons Christmas Parade. Participation in the Vidalia Christmas Parade is mandatory for the Teen and Miss queens and optional for all the other queens. Both parades traditionally take place durinh the first weekend of December. A float or wehicle will be provided for all the queens.
